Jarrod Wilson was born in Akron, Ohio.
Wilson played football for Michigan from 2012 to 2015. Wilson appeared in 10 games as a reserve safety and 13 games as a special teams contributor. He earned John F. Maulbetsch spring award for a freshman based on desire, character, capacity for leadership, and future success both on and off the field. He tallied eight tackles, four solos, and one fumble recovery. He appeared in 12 games at safety, making eight starts in 2013 season, he registered 50 tackles, 2.0 TFL, and two interceptions and earned Frederick Matthaei spring award for the junior-to-be who has displayed leadership, drive, and achievement on the athletic field and in the classroom. In 2014 Wilson appeared in 10 games, making ten starts, recorded 50 tackles, 24 solos, one TFL, and one forced fumble, at Michigan State (Oct. 25): Tallied a career-high 11 tackles. In 2015 appeared in 13 games at safety, making 13 starts.
Following the 2016 NFL Draft, Wilson was signed by the Jacksonville Jaguars as an undrafted free agent. In 2018, Wilson played in all 16 games primarily on special teams and as a backup safety. He made his first career start at strong safety in Week 16. He finished the season with 21 tackles, two passes defensed, and a forced fumble.

2017 - played in all 16 games for Jacksonville Jaguars, the team made it to the AFC Championship
2018 - played all 16 games and made the first career start this season
2018 - Founded the Jarrod Wilson Foundation in 2019
2019 - Full-time starter for the Jacksonville Jaguars, started all 16 games led the team in tackles with 79 tackles and 2 interceptions
2019 - Signed new deal with Jacksonville Jaguars
2020 - started 12 games, placed on IR for 4 games with a pulled hamstring, 1 interception
2021 - Released from Jacksonville Jaguars
2021 - Signed by the New York Jets, played in 5 games for JETS, 1 sack
2021 - Released by the New York Jets
2021 - Signed by San Francisco 49ers, played in 4 games, made it to the NFC Championship
2021 - June 26th, married to partner Desaray Wilson
2022 - August 27th, his first daughter Jovie was born to him and his wife
2023 - passed Real Estate exam and received Realtor licenses
2023- Joined Keller Williams Realty Atlantic Beach Partners
